Every so often, I come across a book, that draws me in from the very first page. This series, Haven, by D. C. Akers, did just that.

From the very first page, I was hooked and couldn't put the book down. The story starts out with Sam, the main character, running for his life, scared to death. Only, this turn out to be a nightmare.

Very quickly, we jump from Sam's nightmare, to his real nightmare on earth...his sister Sarah, waking him and making a joke of what he is experiencing.

We go through the first few chapters, learning about Sam and Sarah, and their mother , and the dynamic that drives them all. Sam and Sarah are two years apart, but the distance between them seems even further.

For a short time, we are hearing the story from Sarah's point of view, and we can start to figure out that there is something not quite right about this family.

As the story progresses, we learn of another world, called Haven, the world that Sam, Sarah, and their mother come from...the world that Sam's father died in. A world filled with the supernatural...Vampires, witches, Orcs, Goblins, and Vipers (The enemy, and the reason for the death of Sam's father).

We are with Sam as he learns about who his mother really is, as well as when he comes face to face with the creatures responsible for so much death and destruction in his life.

There is so much to this story, and the two books will have you at the edge of your seat...so much so, that I am actually going to ask the author D.C. Akers, right now PLEASE let me review book 3!!

I can't wait to find out what happens to Sam and the rest of his family in book 3, and if you are intrigued and want to read books 1 and 2 of Haven Series Collection , you can find it on Amazon for $4.95 (Kindle), or $12.34 (Paperback).
