Well, it has been a hell of a year. The year started out really rough, you and your family were still reeling from a huge financial loss, and a few emotional traumas, but slowly you started rebuilding, and putting the pieces back where they went.
In March, you finally married the man you have been with for more than a decade, not that it made a huge difference...a piece of paper didn't change how you felt about each other, didn't change the fact that you already called him your husband, and that he called you his wife. It didn't change the fact that you had already taken his last name...in fact, all it changed, is that now all of your identifying information, is up to speed!
Still, having a ceremony was nice, you always wanted one, and hopefully 2016 will be the year you get to have one where dad gets to give you away.
2015, found you pulling your son out of public school, and homeschooling him...which is definitely a learning experience, but for the most part has had a positive impact on not just your son, but on the family as a whole. I understand how hard it was to watch your sons love of learning disappear, watch him cry after school, and hear him say that the other kids, and his teacher were mean to him...so don't second guess your decision for even one minute, you made the right choice!!
Your blog has come a long way, and with its help, you were able to do great things. For the first time in years, not only did you NOT have to put the kids on the Angel Tree, but the gifts under the Christmas Tree, had you and your husbands name on them! 2016 will be even better.
Here's the thing, I know things were rough, and that you want to much more for your family, but in true Shandi fashion, you kicked 2015's butt...you always make the best, of the worst situations...its one of your best qualities, never forget that. So, cheers to the 2015 me, thanks you for the ride, and I am looking forward to 2016!
Thank you for reading a story from #BehindTheBlogger Hop. Every 2 weeks a group of bloggers is given a writing prompt. These prompts are very open ended, so our bloggers can write about whatever they desire. The main rule is that their blog post directly relates to the topic of that week. The point of this hop is for our readers to get to know us on a personal level.
Please hop along and read all of the blog posts in this weeks hop. Just click the links below. If you want real and raw emotion, then you will find it here. After you read each post, please comment and share. We want to get to know you too!
