As an Autism Mom, I have learned to celebrate the small victories, but it has mostly been the small victories of my son. I had never actually thought about extending that process, into my own life. For so long, I was stuck with accomplishing the big picture, and never really looked at the little steps along the way, that made it possible for my to complete the final goal.
I wish that I had started doing that, much sooner in my weight loss journey, maybe then, I would not have quit so many times, because I wasn't reaching my goal fast enough. I remember one night, when my husband mentioned something about getting rid of some of our gym equipment, because I didn't use it anyway. I said that I needed the motivation, of him working out with me, because I would get discouraged easily, when I didn't see myself making progress.
The thing is, everyone around me could see the progress I was making, but because I was focused on the final goal, I wasn't recognizing the small victories. That changed, when I started Nutrisystem - With the way that this program is set up, I don't have a choice, but to pay attention to what my body is doing. I have learned to pay attention to the small goals, that I am continuously meeting. Over the last few weeks, I have seen myself drop weight, inches, and pant sizes. I have seen myself increase the amount of time I can spend running on the treadmill, without getting winded. NONE of these small victories, is my ultimate goal of hitting 135 lbs, BUT, they have all helped me in the journey of reaching that goal. They are all small wins!
So, this week, set a goal - for me, it is running the full 2 miles, that I do daily, on the treadmill, instead of running only half of it. What is your goal for the week? Sound off in the comments!
Now, how did this last week go? Not too bad, I lost a couple more pounds, as well as couple more inches, which is just putting me closer to my final goal. I also dove into my second shipment, and have been enjoying some great food. I will refrain from telling you about them this week, because nest week, I will be mapping out ALL of my favorites, thus far into my journey. I will however, let you know that I have been enjoying the different snack options that are available to me - things like fudge brownies, carrot cake, golden pound cake, and chocolate chip cookies, not to mention the savory options, like the salt & vinegar snack-a-rounds, Parmesan crisps, and mustard pretzels!
Now for my current stats!
